Laying Lawn

HOW MUCH TURF DO YOU NEED?

Measuring

If your lawn is square or rectangle shape, measuring is quiet easy. Measure the width and length then multiply the two together.

Not all of our lawns are that easy to measure, irregular shaped yards are increasingly popular due to landscaping, garden beds, fire pits, pools etc.

You can measure your yard in sections as shown in the diagram.

We recommend you order 5-10% more turf then you need for cutting and shaping around edges.

Each turf roll is 600 width x 1.675 length.

Getting your new lawn down

Start by laying your first roll along side a driveway, foot path or garden bed.

Work your way down, then across from there.

Laying by staggering or bricklaying pattern tight together.

Avoid overlapping or leaving gaps.

Shape your rolls around paths, garden beds and edges, cut with a spade or knife.

Water your new lawn immediately.

Fertilising

For the healthiest, greenest lawn all year round it is crucial you fertilise, for deeper roots and stronger grass. Helps to thicken and prevent weeds. For best results fertilise 3-4 times per year. Avoid feeding your lawn in winter. Make sure to distribute the fertiliser evenly over your lawn and according to the fertilisers instructions.
